This course provides the steps of systematic review and meta-analysis for clinical researchers. The course is not suitable for beginner researchers. The course is suitable for researchers on all academic levels.

By the end of this course, the participant should be able to:

  1. Identify a relevant research question for a systematic review
  2. Determine the PICO of his research question and state the inclusion/exclusion criteria
  3. Search the literature systemically, remove duplicate publications, and screen records
  4. Assess the quality of randomized controlled trials using the Cochrane risk of Bias assessment tool
  5. Make summary and baseline characteristics tables of the systematic review
  6. Make data extraction sheet for meta-analysis
  7. Calculate missing data for performing a meta-analysis
  8. Interpret forest plots (effect size/heterogeneity)
  9. Perform a meta-analysis model on Review Manager (RevMan) software
