I have been recently asked about the statistics and impact of my clinical research training in the middle east region. I have been giving these clinical research courses to medical students inside and outside Egypt since 2014. During the past 7 years, at least 2500 medical students, trainees, physicians, and faculty members joined my courses as a part or a whole.
Hereby, I provide some statistics into my training since September 2019 till the moment, May 2021.
Current statistics as of today June 2, 2021:
- Number of participants registered for the courses = 967 participants
- The audience using our online system “Negida Clinical Research Academy” = 2510 users
- Number of scholarship applicants for the course = 1114 applicants
(1) Academic Level of Participants
The majority of my course participants were medical students and master’s/PhD candidates (See Figure 1).
(2) Courses with the highest enrollment
The majority of participants registered for the full basic training (courses from C1 to C5). For individual courses, Course 4 (How to Write and Publish Research) and Course 1 (introduction to clinical research methodology) were the most frequent individual courses (Figure 2).
(3) Nationalities of the participants
Egyptians represent 70-80%of the course participants.
About 20% of the participants are not Egyptians, mostly from Jordan, Palestine, and Saudi Arabia.
Similar patterns were observed in scholarship applicants (Figure 3).
(4) Academic grades of students
As I mentioned previously, 40% of my course participants are students, the majority of those students are 2nd year, 3rd-year, and final-year medical students. Similar patterns were reported in the scholarship applications with the majority of applicants from the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th years (Figure 4)
(5) Active participants on Negida Clinical Research Academy
As of today, we have 2510 customers actively using Negida clinical research academy, this include previous course takers, current course participants, and interested individuals who attend our free webinar and make use of the course materials (Figure 5). Of them, 1880 individuals are subscribers to our academy newsletters in case of any new courses or lectures. Recently, we announced the free membership package for interested participants, 480 members have joined our FREE basic membership community.
